The end of an era....

I think, atleast for now, Jay reliving his soccer glory days through both of his girls may be over, atleast where kate is concerned. We FINALLY had our last game of the season on Saturday. It was early and pretty chilly - Kate wanted no part of it and spent the first half doing this -

laying on the blanket next to momma asking for a snuggle! Poor Jay was pacing back and forth - i really thought he was going to run out on the field and kick the ball himself! I don't what he said during his half time pep talk but it worked! Kate ran out on the field like the champion she is - they had a great game and ended up winning 4-1. They (along with every other 3 yr old ymca participant) earned a gold medal! Here is a picture from the very moving and formal medal ceremony.

Don't worry, it didn't interfere with the less formal, but just as moving, eating of the scooby doo snacks!
We managed to keep the paparazzi away long enough to snap this group shot of our champion team!

After the game, Kate celebrated in her own personal way, the double handed eating of cherry twizzlers!

From Kate's game we headed straight to Brooke's. It was another 3 game Saturday! These girls are amazing and SOOOO much fun to watch. They have really stepped it up and are playing some serious soccer. Brooke has become a staple in the starting line-up. Although she is normally one of the youngest and smaller players on the team she is holding her own. She is now playing a defensive position and her opposers are not too crazy about her. Saturday this girl who i am not kidding was as tall as i am and was wearing full make-up (we joked she probably drove there) YELLED at Brooke to get off of her! Brooke was guarding this girl and she could not get open. The girl got so frustrated they put her in another position because she just couldn't lose brooke! It was awesome! This team they played has not had a loss all season - until Saturday! The soccer sisters beat them 3-2! Sorry there aren't any pics but the last game it was so cold, we were bundled up and it was getting so dark i never even took the camera out. I will try and do better this week!
Should be a fairly quiet week this week. The last few weeks I have been waiting for some changes that just may not be happening. But hey, you know what they say, "when you least expect it, expect it!"
