Spring has officially arrived!

Kate and I spent much of yesterday morning working outside. We pulled weeds from the newly created flowerbed and planted several annuals in the pots out front. My dad came over to supervise - Kate adores him! She did a really good job and was rewarded with her own garden shovel which she proceeded to use to dig dirt out of the bag and pour all over mommy. Oops! Anyway, we took the opportunity to learn about nature and all the beautiful colors found in nature. Here is Miss Kate helping carry plants - note the little shovel in her hand!

Here she is showing off her hard work!

Last night we attended Maundy Thursday services. They had special small groups for families with young children. It was so nice and felt very special. I think Brooke really got a lot out of it. Kate got to partake in her first Communion. I hadn't planned on having her do it but she just reached right up there and helped herself. It was very sweet and very moving.

Today ends my 2 weeks of meal planning. I am SO proud of myself - i didn't have to go to the store once. I stuck to my menus and everything worked out. With this being a busy Easter weekend,i think Kate and I will plan to go to the store on Monday to start again. Tonight, dinner is on Jay. Guess I had better call him and tell him!
