I have discovered something on my first day...

it never ends! Things might be a little different if Jay weren't working late but he is. It is end of the month and is trying to close the months with a decent bonus - so far so good. Really can't complain. I promised myself i would try and blog more staying home although i expect many days there won't be anything to blog about. Today was one of those days but what the heck - i'm going to anyway.

Kate and I posed for a picture on our first day!We are in the playroom aka my new office!


We spent the morning paying bills, planning meals and i created this calendar for the refrigerator that has our daytime plans, evening plans, dinner menu and a weather forecast. Right before lunch we went to the grocery store. I stopped by McD so Kate could eat in her Car cart at the grocery store. Our pantry & freezer is stocked full! After lunch my sister and Lillie came by for a bit. Lillie had to show off her new walking skills - kate tried a little too hard to help. She is not exactly patient - she has been waiting 14 months for her to grow up so they could run & play. She is getting awfully close. They did take some time to enjoy a pretend picnic in the playroom.



I had just gotten Kate down for a nap and decided to start some laundry when i realized it was 3:00. Brooke was home 5 minutes later. So much for downtime! Brooke and i did a couple of homework lessons, talked about her day & shared a snack. Kate woke up and we decided it had turned in a beautiful day - too pretty to be inside. I have been wanting to clean out our front flowerbed. Since we moved in at the beginning of winter last year - we have taken anytime with it. It was sooooo bad. I call this the before!


You might have to wait a while for the after. We had a storm move through and it had a lot of rain.

My mom stopped by to show off pics of her new house and get my opinion on color schemes. She was also gracious enough to trim brooke's bangs and then her hair - she has spring pictures at school tomorrow. Kate BEGGED her to cut her hair too. She really did need it. She held so still for Nanna. I was proud of them both!


Sarah and I were planning on going to the zoo tomorrow but silly me scheduled an eye appt right in the middle of the day. with kate. at nap time. Hmmmmm not my smartest move. Anyway, not sure what tomorrow will bring but I know I am looking forward to it!
