I thought Kate was making a turn....

turned out to be a U-Turn! We had a great weekend - she was so good, very few fits - we even ate out a couple of times, i thought maybe just maybe the terrible two's were heading out of town. Ummmmm no. Today was not a good day. I had a rough day at work and then when i got home, this Monday just kept on giving! I had to stop and buy Brooke's lunch stuff for the week - didn't realize she was out of everything. By the time i got home it was 6:30 and i had a splitting headache. Luckily (or not) I had marinated some chicken breasts thie morning and also picked up the house and ran the dishwasher all before I left this morning. However, I got home and Kate was like superglue to me - loud superglue! If i even tried to sit her down for a minute she screamed. I tried our new "timeout" pillow which worked great the first time and then more screaming. I cooked dinner all with her 26lb body glued to my hip. Normally, Brooke is a huge help. Not so much today. Everytime I turned around she was making a mess. So when her BFF called and asked if she could spend the night, without hesitation, I said, "YES!" If I wasn't so tired and frustrated I probably would have said no but at that point, I was too tired to argue. Jay grilled the chicken but not until the potatoes and veggies were all cold and dry. It's ok, his chicken was dry too so it went well with my cold dry sides! Can you tell I am a bit bitter! Oh and I am hot and hormonal! It's no secret I had to have a complete hysterectomy last year - well since I moved back here and have a new GYN, she took me off my hormones - my blood pressure was a dangerous levels and until I get it under control it is mood swings and hotflashes for me!

Maybe tomorrow will be better...

OH and I have decided to share this little tidbit here....I am giving up the juice - mommy juice that is! Kate calls my Dr Pepper, mommy juice. I was drinking one a day and ok with that but then it became 2 a day and sometimes 3. I am going cold turkey and it started today- wish me luck!

I can empathize with the hot flashes and hormones! Hang in there!

I remember the terrible 2's - you will get through them! Brandon went through a stage of throwing terrible temper tantrums. I had read something about tantrums, and how you should give your child a place of their very own where they can throw tantrums - shut them in the room - and leave them alone. Tell them they can throw as big a tantrum as they want, but they can't come out of the room until they are done. We picked the bathroom (at the time it was small and there was nothing he could tear up). His tantrums were gone after 2 trips to the "tantrum" room. You might try finding Kate a tantrum room. Don't know if it will work, but it did for us.

Good luck with the hot flashes and jumping on the "wagon."

Oh man - sounds like a rough day! Our kids seemed to have the terrible 3's instead of 2's... maybe you're lucky that you're getting it over with early??

Good luck with the Dr. Pepper. I tried giving up diet coke, but it didn't last long. All that stuff is definitely addictive!

Days like that just stink...so sorry you started the week out that way. It can only get better from here! Good luck with the lack of mommy juice - when I give up pop for lent it is the worst. I have the utmost confidence in your ability to refrain...
