Father's Day Weekend

Sorry I have been a little behind on blogging lately - just nothing to say I guess! Jay decided to go play golf with his dad Saturday for Father's Day. The girls and i decided to take our friend Leah and her two boys to Pelican Bay. The girls and I got up early, had breakfast and went to put our swimsuits on but soon figured out that Kate's swimsuit was at Nan's - all she had was her suits from last year. What a lucky excuse to go buy a new one. We found the cutest suit and matching hat at Babies R Us - we stopped by my office to change before heading to the pool.

We got to Pelican Bay about 11am - right around Kate's nap time. She really wasn't herself. The kids loved running and playing on the sprayground but surprisingly Kate didn't want to go down the slides. She pretty much clung to me. We did enjoy the lazy river although walking around in a "squat position" carrying 2 25lb babies did NOT feel very lazy! We enjoyed a picnic lunch and watching the kiddos play! Apparently, I ended up with the worst sunburn the city of Edmond had ever seen. It's really not that bad but I could no longer enjoy myself at the pool because everyone kept coming up to me and saying "oh my god - you have to get out of the pool - you have worst sunburn I have ever seen!" I guess it was nice but it got a little tired. Plus, i was wearing 50spf suncreen and hanging out with one of my closest friends

After Pelica Bay we met up with Jay and ran to the store to pick up some dinner items for dinner at my sister's house. Of course, while we were at the store (still in Edmond) a woman came up to me and said,"oh my sweetie, that must really hurt - are you going to be ok?" Hmmmmmm yeah. I'm fine although I was starting to wonder! Seriously, it's not that bad.

We went home and i made my famous "aphrodisiac salad." According to my husband, one bite and you are craving it all night! and some fresh corn on the cob! It was a fabulous treat with Chris and Sarah's mixed grill! Lucky Chris got a new grill for father's day - he was a little unsure of it so Jay stepped into help! It was all sooooo yummy! Especially the steaks with blue cheese and the mushrooms - OMG! YUM!

Here are the Fathers hanging out by the new grill!

BTW, if anyone is interested, my dad is still single - he is the handsome one in the middle...

While the boys were chillin and grillin', Sarah and I were hanging out with our babies at the pool! Lillie is getting so big and is just at the perfect age for some serious baby snuggling! If you want to check up on her progress - visit Aunt Bootsy's blog here she has much better pics than I do! Here are a few of the pics I took.

Tennis anyone? Draven is starting tennis lessons today. We tried to get Brooke to join him but she wasn't interested. Kate was!

The kids all really enjoy hanging out with each other. Both my girls are head over heels for cousin Draven!

Kate ended up with no nap so after dinner it was nine o'clock! She decided to take a little rest in Lillie's mosquito bed.

This morning, Brooke carried on the tradition of bringing daddy breakfast in bed! She made the waffles all herself! They are footballs, stars and hearts! I think he really enjoyed it. He also opened his gifts in bed - i think his tiki flip-flops that Brooke picked out were his favorite! Or maybe it was just the snuggle time with his girls!

the rest of the day has been pretty lazy - jay is doing laundry, the girls are playing and i am trying to mske the final switch from winter clothes to summer clothes.
