OK, so do you remember me talking about Brooke's boyfriend Ryan? He is the one that basically proposed the first day of school. They have been going strong ever since. His mom and I have even had a few conversations that we were watching them because for third graders, it was a little too serious and time consuming. Thankfully at this age "too serious" in my book just means she talks way to much about him and nothing else. Well a week ago Brooke decided she was done with Ryan apparently she learned he liked a couple of others girls - ugh can you imagine! hehehe So she broke up with him. Well he told her that she coldn't break up with him and that she was still his girlfiend (doesn't that sound eerily familiar - i hate to reference George COstanza again but pretty sure this also happened to him.) so anyway, he told her she was still his girlfrend and then he "made her eat tamales" for lunch which is in quotes because that is exactly what brooke said not because it is a euphanism - THANK GOD!
So this week comes and once again, she broke up with Ryan. She told me she told him very very calmly but he cried anyway. Poor little guy - he really is a sweet boy. Well I guess a minute later some boy said "so you and Ryan broke up, huh" word travels fast in the 3rd grade. He asked her to be his girlfriend but brooke said he wasn't "her type." Another minute passes and another boy asks to be his girlfriend. This time it was Brock. According to Brooke he is so cute AND he can protect her whch apparently is VERY important. Brooke said she always had to protect Ryan but now Brock protects her which is the way it should be. hmmmm ok, kinda hard to argue.I did ask what exactly she needed protection from. Brooke explained that if a bully comes up and trys to "bull her" Brock would say, "hey, don't bull her that is my girlfriend." Nice.
I got to meet Brock Tuesday night when I picked Brooke up. He is really cute and a BIG guy! Brooke started screaming, "mommy mommy" when i walked in and then Brock comes up to me and says " so you're Brooke's mom I have been wanting to meet you and ask you something." ummmmm, ok. I was impressed until he asked me the question "can you break cartlidge?" Not what i was expecting. We had a good chat - i showed him my scars he showed me his - brooke was so embarrassed. I like the kid plus check out this big huge pink heart ring he bought brooke. Less than one week in and he is already buying her jewelry. Impressive. But I am keeping my eye on him, just in case!
p.s. Brock and Brook? how cute is that? Almost as cute a Jenn and Jay :)
