All better now...

Kate made it through surgery just fine. It was really good we didn't wait - her ENT said her left ear drum was ready to burst. So scary! She did not come out of anethesia very well which I guess is common for babies her age. I wasn't quite prepared for that. I thought she would just want some mommy reassurance and snuggle time but no she did not. She went back and forth between me and jay and would not calm down! It was kind of scary. She wouldn't eat or drink but they finally let us go anyway. Once we got her in the car she took her Melmo cup of juice and ate some animal crackers while watching her Cat in the Hat DVD. Since she was finally calm, Jay and I drove around hoping she would go to sleep. She didn't. She did end up taking a litle nap in the afternoon. When she woke up she was starving! She ate 3 bowls of my homemade rigatoni, one bowl of peaches and a brownie bite. By the end of the evening, she was quite content!

I'm so glad everything went well. I know exactly what you are going through with her. One of Jaycee's tubes fell out of her ear, and soon after she got another ear infection. It lasted forever. It was very scary. She had blood coming out of both ears. I was horrified. They have to reinsert the tube here in the near future. I really hope she outgrows the ear infections.

Kate will feel like a million bucks without those ear infections now. Which is a good thing because, no ear infections for them, no missing work, late nights and less stress for you. :-)
