Tonight, on a very special Blossom...

I heard from our agency the other day and it seems as though we are still lacking 2 vital pieces of info. We need Brooke's SS card which we have and a letter from her pediatrician saying she is healthy and free of communicable diseases. Not to worry too much. They are not withholding our profile and will show it to any applicable birth mother. We are still unofficially officially approved and active! We are struggling a little with Brooke's other mom and haven't been able to get the letter so J & i are going to have to take another vacation day and go down to OKC to get it. I shouldn't complain - I haven't been in a while and maybe we can even have some fun while we are there.

So what now?
I am not sure I explained this or not, but we wait.
What are we waiting for?
So glad you asked.

We had to answer a million (only slight exaggeration) questions about what we are looking for in a child and also about our level of openness as it pertains to the birth mother and adoption in general. If our agency has a birthmother that matches those qualities we set forth, then she will be shown our profile beginning with some of our answers to questions regarding parenting and general family & lifestyle info. If she likes all of that, THAT is when we will get "a very important phone call." Which, I gotta tell you just cracks me up. Our agency will literally call us and say (now this is code ok) Hi Jenn & J, I've got someone very special for you to talk to." That is to let us know that she is about to put our birth mother on the phone and we have been matched! OMG - as soon as I get a call from our agency, I will probably just burst into tears - forget this code crap! I will be flippin' out! Hmmmm, maybe J should answer the phone. So because as most of you know, I can be a total freak when it comes to stuff like this, we have, to date, had all of our correspondance with our agency via e-mail because I don't want to see their number on the caller ID only to hear they now need a lock of my hair or some other vital piece of information ! :) haha

Just a reminder too that I know I have mentioned some different birth moms that our agency has talked to us about. It is good to keep in mind that they don't walk in the door and start being shown families. One of the things I really love about our agency is how they minister and care for and counsel these women. They don't want anyone to rush into anything - it is better for us all that way so just so you haven't seen any updates me from the 2 previously mentioned BMs, doesn't really mean anything. We are just waiting.

Oh I have a new timeline! Of course, it means absolutely nothing but I have decided now it would be great if we would get matched soon (by the end of August or early Sept.) with a BM that was due around December 1st. THEN....I could take off work for the whole month of Christmas - woohoo! That even works well with my work schedule! As a matter of fact, it is so perfect, I am 110% that is definitely NOT the way this is going to happen. But, it would be nice.

OK, one more update, Jay and I worked on the room and although it is not quite finished, Brooke's part is and I very happy. I just couldn't let myself put up the crib this last weekend. We might do it this weekend as a family. I think my need to finish the project will supercede my hesitation. I hope. So, I thought I would go ahead and atleast share what i have done. What do you think??? Don't be afraid - post a comment!

Here's Brooke's new bed - she hasn't seen it. I hope she LOVES it!

Here is the dresser/changing table combo.

And just an overview of the room.

Man, I love Blossom!

The room is looking mighty cute... I want to see the crib, though! :-)
