Well, we made it through the weekend and you know, it wasn't half bad. Saturday J& I drove up to Abilene to see our friend and help him on his house he just bought. He and J layed tile until about 3am. We are going to be tiling our kitchen floor soon to complete our update so the experience will come in handy. Always better to practice on someone else's house! Just kidding Mike & Deb!

We got back Sunday afternoon and watched the rest of the Indy 500. As long as J & I have been together (more than 10yrs now) we have made it a tradition to watch the race. It is the only race we watch all year long so I guess we are more fans of the event than the sport. I am a big fan of Tony Kanaan - what can I say, he is hot and speaks with an accent - what is not to love. Unfortunately, he lost again. Jay's guy won it for the first time - so yeah for him!

Last night after the race we were thinking about starting dinner when my darling husband asks me on a date. Afterall, hopefully we will have a baby in the near future and these alone times might start getting fewer and further between. of course, I accepted. We went to the movies and saw Friends with Money starring Jennifer Aniston. It was all right. Not great but ok. Maybe worth a rental. Maybe. But it really didn't matter to J & I. We had the best time. We went to our favorite theatre (it's really quiet and kinda run down - no one goes there). We were in the back row all by ourselves - it was great. After the movie we were both craving salads. Kinda weird, I guess. We ended up at Jason's Deli and had their salad bar. It was after 9:00 by that point - we were just glad they were open. We had a great dinner and great conversation. After that we went next door to Marble Slab for an ice cream cone. We got our ice cream and took a walk down to the lake. We found a secluded spot where it was just us and the ducks. It was a beautiful night - the lake was so peaceful - and the stars were out in full effect. I don't know what it was but it was honestly one of the most romantic dates of my life. I am one lucky, lucky girl!!

Oh! I forgot to mention we got Gordie's pic hung up. What do you think??

We worked around the house inside and out - I am so exhausted. Guess it is time to hit the hay! Goodnight everybody - sleep tight!
