It's another River Festival weekend and Brooke is excited to say the least! Here she is with her rose bush...

We have a had a good breakfast (ok, sprinkle donuts) and have read the paper

I think we are going to head down to the river and hopefully watch some bathtubs races down the river. Yeah, I know it sounds weird but it is kind of a Wichita thing, I think. We have never seen it before. Every year we say we are going to try the Riverfest thing but never do - except the fireworks. That we do every year. We go to our friends (chris & Kathleen) house, cookout and then walk to the river. Most years it has been like our own little private fireworks show on the river. Too much fun. They have 3 boys and Brooke just adores them (their oldest son, William is her on again, off again boyfriend). Last time William was here, he wrote on her Doodle Bear, "Brooke loves William." We all kind of laughed and he got mad and said,"well she does!" Last time I looked, Brooke had scratched it all out. Ahhhhh, young love!!

Anyway.....the show doesn't start until almost 10pm tonight. Hopefully we will make it home for a nap in between some of these events. Last year by the time the fireworks started we were all so sunburned and exhausted. This year, we are really going to try and plan better. Gotta run - I still need to track down the bug spray and sunscreen. Hopefully tomorrow I will have some more fun pics and stories to share! Have a great weekend!
