NO MORE SNOW!

Brooke ended up missing 4 days of school thanks to Oklahoma's latest snow storm! That meant, including the winter, we were housebound for SIX days! I realize that isn't a lifetime but with two kids plus various neighborhood kids hanging out, our house was in a constant state of chaos!
We did crafts and lessons, we baked, we cleaned, we read, we watched movies, we played hide n seek, attempted to build a snowman, went sledding, invented "mommy's best hot chocolate ever" and I am pretty sure we wore every mis-matched hat, glove and scarf set we have ever owned!
By Tuesday of this week, I was just about at my wits end! I don't remember my mom and dad constantly entertaining us, somewhere in this child-raising, I have taken a bad right turn. With one last burst of creativity, I offered up a tea party complete with make up overs and fancy princess attire. I helped plan and prepare but the girls and their furry companions enjoyed the party sans mom.

It was a great party, totally hated to miss it. Well, not totally!

Speaking of parties, I also managed to throw a very impromptu, very small, dinner party for Jay's birthday! If you want to see pics from that, check out my 40x40 blog!

Thankfully as of yesterday, everyone is back where they belong and we can settle back into our nice, comfy routine well atleast until the next storm which could be as soon as next week. sigh.
