Then came the blizzard on Christmas Eve - the worst in the states history and the days of Christmas became a blur. All of our church services including the girls pageant, was cancelled. Roads were treacherous. We received more than fourteen inches of snow - and that was on top of the ice and sleet we had earlier in the day. Luckily, we all made it back to our respective houses safely! Here are some of my favorite pics from our Christmas celebrations!
Jay warming his feet by the fire after a long winter's nap!

Digging my brother Aaron's car out of the snow at my dad's house. We got him out but he ended up spending Christmas Eve at our house, it was too dangerous to get back to his mother=in-law's and they closed every single highway in a 7 county area!

My sister and I joined a gang this year, it's just for elves! We're a jolly ol gang!

Brooke joined too as a junior member!

Uncle Aaron, Aunt Shell and the girls got snowed in with us, although I know they wished they were with Rama we sure enjoyed the time with them - Miss Kate loves Aunt "bubbles!"

It was Kate's turn to put the angel on the tree at Nan and Pop's. She took it very seriously and did a GREAT job!

Brooke's presents were a little more grown up this year - a hair dryer and straightner (blue leopard to be specific!) and luggage along with a lot of clothes! Miss Kate got some fairy dress up clothes, lots of barbies and although it was touch and go for a while, Santa came through with her big girl Cupcake bike!

As I sit here and type this, it is snowing again. This time it is peaceful and beautiful, much like my wish for this New Year which is almost upon us. After a hectic 2009, I find myself wishing for peace and comfort. I vow to find joy in simple pleasures, once again. I resolve to be the person, I know I can be, to be kind and loving and selfless. I hope you, dear friends, find what you are looking for in the New Year and that peace and joy find you.
