Kate's first soccer game!

At 3yrs and 2 weeks, Miss Kate played her first soccer game! She is on a church team thru the Y. It is definitely not as serious as Brooke's soccer. The biggest challenge at this age is keeping the kiddos on the field! There were a few teammates that cried, some wanted to be held by the coach and at practice, one kid even ate some grass. Miss Kate was the clear exception - I would like to tell you that she strapped on her cleets and transformed into a Mini Mia Hamm but the truth while she did remain on the field she had very little interest in kicking the ball. At one point jay was yelling from the sidelines "kate - kick the ball" she kicked it and then yelled back "there! i did it!" nice. nice. She did get more agressive in the second half and of course looked adorable during the entire game! The snacks at the end seemed to make it all worthwhile! I wonder how they will do when they realize they have to do it all again next weekend! In the meantime - Go Mighty Dinos Go!






This is my favorite shot of the game! Kate was asked to do a throw in for the dinos, something she had seen but never done. She raised her arms over her head to throw the ball in, the ball, landed on her head and bounced into the game. I don't think I have ever seen David Beckham attemp a headball throw in, have you? Perhaps this is her signature move...
