Bargains and Beautiful Girls

Last Friday I met with my old employer on a new freelance gig - very exciting. It's a lot like my old job at The Eagle, just wish i had a few more contacts here in OKC. It was great to see everyone. I thought it would be hard going back there but i am really enjoying my new "position."

After the meeting, Kate and i stopped by a garage sale and purchased our deal of the century. Kate has been wanting a bike but we have had trouble finding her one - she is a little ummmm vertically challenged! I really wanted to buy her a power wheels jeep but they are sooooo expensive! Well guess what - i found one at a garage sale for 40 dollars. I called jay just to see what he thought and he told me to try and get them to take less. I am a bargain shopper NOT a negotiator. Anyway, i really wanted to get it for kate so i did just that. I offered her 30 bucks and SOLD! I got it! My sweet dad came to pick it up and deliver it. Kate LOVES it!!! It is a great bargaining chip when she is being less than good. I wasn't sure she would be able to drive it but she does great. Sissy can even ride on the back! Check out my little speed racer!


Today was the 4th grade girls tea party at brooke's school. She was soooo excited. I curled her hair last night and even loaned her my pearls. She wore a new church dress and took her best friend "sassy." (thanks aunt wendie)
She looked so cute - hope she has a great time. Oh one more brookie brag....she jsut received a little trophy for being an all-star reader. I can't believe how far that girl as come. makes a momma proud!
