So much to be thankful for...

Yesterday, i hosted my family and jay's family for Thanksgiving. Everyone had a great time - good food, great conversation, lots of laughs. Despite many attempts, nobody ACTUALLY ruined Thanksgiving!

Sorry I haven't posted in a week, working mom guilt got the best of me and i just didn't want to share. I guess instead of focusing on all the things i miss out on i should focus on what I have like 2 beautiful kids who attend great schools while i work at a job i love saving the world one ad at a time! The girls schools each had a family Thanksgiving dinner - jay got to attend both accompanied by my dad! Here is Kate's dinner

Here is my dad and Brooke at her school dinner

I decided to spend some quality time with the girls on my own time - we spent the evening making Turkey Cookies (brooke was a little worried that the cookies actually contained turkey.) It started off great!

But then it got a little crazy and we got the turkeys a little close together. We managed to save a few but not enough for dinner so mommy's co-workers ended up with a little treat.

Sarah came over early Thanksgiving morning to help and let the kids play! We don't have a lot of traditions in our family, Sarah and i are trying to start our own but one that we do have is called "the baby job." Basically, the baby of the family is in charge of making the easiest thanksgiving treat, pudding pies. Poor Sarah had to do it for years before she had her son 13 years ago, then Draven did it followed by Zoe, Audrey and Brooke. This year we passed the baby job on to Kate and Lillie with the help of their older siblings! It was GREAT!

Finally dinner was ready, one of my traditions is taking of picture of my Thanksgiving table. I was particularly proud of it this year.

This was Lillie's first Thanksgiving - she did so good! She ate quite a bit and really seemed to enjoy it. I can't believe this was Kate's third Thanksgiving! This year she discovered a new love! Olives or as she calls them.....Olabs! She loved the black ones - we had to show her how to put them on her fingers!

She ate all the black ones so we had to introduce her to the greens ones. Turns out, they work too!

After dinner we retired to the living room to enjoy some football and the occasional dozing off. The little ones enjoyed some more play time - it is amazing how quickly their age difference is disappearing!

Since we have moved into the new house, I am finally starting to feel settled and happy about living in Oklahoma City. Tomorrow we are going to my dad's to help him decorate his Christmas tree and tonight we are going to a parade with our best friends. Between good friends and family, I really do have a lot to be thankful for!

Looks like a wonderful Thanksgiving! And the turkey cookies are o-so-perfect.
P.S. I have decided to live vicariously through your experiences with Kate eating new things since Aidan will eat nothing. Love the olives!
