I was worried or hoping, depending on who you ask, that the game would be called because of the approaching Hurricane Ike. The rain bands didn't start rolling in until half time. Here are some game shots - Brooke started out in the goal and then moved to defense and then forward. I think she might belong at forward but that might just be me wanting her to score!

Here is the team doing the team cheer I taught them - it's pretty cute and involves a little "bootie shakin'!" Next week, i will get a video of it.

Of course with a team of 8 and 9 yr old girls, we have our share of drama! Today, this was ours.

No, thst's not brooke. It's abby and she was fine. She kinda sorta twisted her ankle. Coach Jay offered to carry her off the field and she enthusiastically, and dramatically took him up on the offer. A quick drink of water and some parental sympathy and she was back on the field!
The rain really started coming down but they did not call the game. Adam and Kate enjoyed playing in the rain! Check out Adam's shirt - I love it. Oh and Brooke stopped to pose for an ad - i think she is looking for some sponsorships!

After the game we were drenched from head to toe! Luckily I brought a change of clothes for our next adventure.....High School Musical the Ice Tour! I have to say I was so tired from this week with my dad in the hospital, getting home late and being so busy at work but I really had a great time! Brooke loved it! Warning to those of you who are still planning on going (michelle).....eat and drink at the fair or somewhere else before you go! Popcorn was $10.00, Souvenir cups were $20.00 and a bag of cotton candy was $12.00!!! Brooke took some of her birthday money and really bought the most economically priced item - a plush pillow megaphone.

After HSM, Nan and Pop offered to keep the girls so Jay and I could have some time together. We took advantage of it, came home and took a nap! In seperate bedrooms - how romantic is that?! Once we woke up we went to Old Navy to shop for Kate some fall clothes - didn't find anything but we stumbled into Ross and found 2 Flapdoodles outfits for $10 each! I used to buy Brooke lots of Flapdoodles at this boutique in Wichita where they were anywhere from $50-$70 each! What a super bargain, huh? After that Jay took me to the coolest Biker bar! NOt our normal hangout but it was lots of fun and very quaint! Now it's OU football and off to bed soon!
This is already a super long post but thought I would add that my dad gets out of the hospital tomorrow. Jay and I are picking him up and spending the night with him to take care of him. Sarah is taking the next 2 days after that. Prayers for speedy recovery are much appreciated!

Prayers coming your way!
That shirt was HILARIOUS!
I will continue to pray for your dad's speedy recovery! I know how hard it is to take care of a parent while also inundated with your own kids, work, etc.!
