Star Spangled Salute

Some of you know I have been very busy the last several weeks promoting the Star Spangled Salute Air Show. I was a little worried about people not showing up - we had made a lot of changes and the event was about a month earlier than usual. I showed up half and hour before the gates open and there was traffic already backed up for miles - woohoo!
My job yesterday was to escort the official photographer around - it wasn't bad. Atleast I got my own golf cart! Jay entertained the girls and enjoyed the complimentary refreshments and daredevil flying! My dad even came out to share the day with us. I think the highlight for Brooke was 2 serious celebrity introductions and photo opps. First thing in the morning, we got to hang out with Lauren Nelson, Miss America 2007. Brooke was my photo assistant so she got to drive around with me for a bit and spent a lot of time getting to know Lauren. Here they are in front of Laurens plane the Miss America






Brooke also met a new friend, Peyton. Her mom and I work together and new they would be fast friends! Peyton also has a little sister who is Kate's age. She didn't make it to the air show but we hope to get them together soon! Here are some pics of Brooke and Peyton.






Our good friends Rob and Leah and their 2 boys also came out for the day. Kate and Harrison are 6 months apart and are getting to be playmates. We have always teased that it will work out so well in the future with them having boys and us having girls. Brooke will marry Ben some day (he already thinks she is a "hottie" and was calling her sugar lips) and Kate will marry Harrison. That way when the 4 of us buy our RV when we retire we will only have 2 sets of kids to visit not 4.

I do have to admit the snipers up on the buildings did freak me out a bit but i guess you can't be too careful!



We did have 2 more celebrity sitings! Sharing our tent was Olympic gold medalists Nadia and Bart Connor. Nadia was so sweet to talk to us and let us take a picture.

After the airshow we went to Rob and Leah to dine on their housewarming party leftovers - it was all so yummy and much appreciated! Thanks guys!
