OK, where are my REAL children?

Maybe because it is cold again or because it is Tuesday or because daddy is working late..whatever it is I am pretty sure my normal happy-go-lucky-momma-loving children have turned into Cranky Pants and Cranky Pants Jr.
It started when I picked Brooke up and she was wearing her undershirt around her after care class. I immediately asked where her sweatshirt was and got a snarly - it's too hot! UGH!So she put on her sweatshirt, and her coat - zipped it all the way to the top and pouted. It's too hot. It's too hot. I told her I never told her to put her coat on. She took it off and then got cold. This is all before we got out the door! Once we get in the car she tells me she hasn't eaten in 2 hours! Apparently that is waaaaaaay too long. She said "Cougar Care" is no good because they let you go 2 hours without eating at all. She keeps complaining about everything. When I ask her why, she snaps " because i am so starving and when i don't eat, i get cranky!" News to me!
We pick up Kate and she is a bundle of......well, not joy! She starts screaming because I won't let her have the keys (perhaps foreshadowing down the road 15 yrs or so?) So then we get in the car and it's my car. Not daddy with the DVD player and Elmo movie. I give in, break down and stop at Wendy's and buy them fast food - something I rarely give in to. Kate is non stop screaming. She wants to eat plus she wants her boppy (which is what she calls her lion stuffed animal from V-day.) The fries are so hot, i have to hold them out the window to cool them off. OK, i guess i didn't have to but Kate's screaming led to Brooke screaming at Kate. UGH! Atleast they were quieter with food in their mouth. We got home and finished dinner. Kate was so fussy she went to bed at 6:45! Don't tell Jay though because if she wakes up early - it is soooooooooo daddy's turn! I asked about Brooke's homework...thank goodness. She neglected to tell me A WEEK AGO that she has 8 that is EIGHT pages of homework due tomorrow.
And I was planning on a nice girls night in watching some American Idol - yeah right!!! Calgon take me away!

ps If you see my REAL kids, send them home. I miss them.

don't you hate nights like this? I have to tell you, it isn't always better when they're teenagers! Mine still fight - scream & yell at each other on occasion, and sometimes you definitely need Calgon to take you away! Hang in there! And if I see your real kids, I'll send them home!

it must be going around... quinn and aidan were grouchy this morning. quinn swore she had no clean clothes when i preceded to pull several from her closet, but of course she says they don't match. then aidan hides under his bed so i drag him kicking and screaming to the car so that i can be late to work again. is it a full moon? geez... sorry the girls were cranky too. maybe tomorrow will be better, right? :)
