Dallas Trip

Oops! I forgot to post my Dallas updates. Things are seriously crazy! This job is going to require much more travel than I thought. Atleast if I want to make any money. My first trip had its ups and downs. For the record, Mapquest sucks! I had a great trip down - clear weather, minimal traffic, I almost enjoyed myself. I went to my first appt and it went well. I basically am just introducing myself to these Dallas ad agencies and handing out business cards and media kits. I was just hoping for "face time" which I got. I got back in my car - made a couple of calls and felt pretty darn confident. Until I headed for my second appt. I drove and drove and drove. I almost got run over - people worry about me talking on my cell phone while I am driving - try reading Mapquest. No matter how many times I read it, it took me in circles. I gave up when I found an Old Navy. Just for the record, I didn't ban Texas Old Navy. Anyway, didn't buy anything but did get new directions. I drove and drove some more and finally called my brother - he couldn't help me fnd where i was going but he definitely kept me from getting lost. Then down came the rain. I was lost, it was raining, Mapquest sucks and everyone was driving 100mph. I lost it for just a bit but then realized that crying at this point, could result in near fatal injuries since I was reading, driving 100mph in driving rain and crying through blurry mascera stained eyes. I pulled it together and headed for the hotel. Not before I ran into a hail storm mind you. Oh and that rain, it was some kind of record - 5 inches per hour!
I ventured out to the nearest C-store searching for a nice bottle of Cabernet but alas, no corkscrew. Not sure what got into me but a BIG bottle of something called Pink Dragon struck my eye. I made my purchase and went back to call it a night. I had this big plush bed, a yumy hot pink drink and peace and quiet. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't hear Kate breathing, or Jay snoring or Brooke walking to the bathroom. I laid awake most of the night. Atleast the next day was better - i threw out mapquest and went off luck and instinct (with a little reason.) I had some great appointments and headed home. I even stopped of at Gainesville for a little outlet shopping - guess that is a travel perk!
All in all - not the worst trip but not the best - not sure I am ready to do it again next week. Not exactly sure what my plan is right now. Actually my plan is for Jay to make WAY more money, me to do some freelance writing from home while taking care of Kate but that is more like a plan B. :)

Tonight we have 6 kiddos - Brooke and Kate had their BIG party. It was almost all kds - very few parents. Now they are having a sleepover, enjoying some popcorn and M&M's and Aquamarine (the movie not the shampoo.) I will post on the party later.
