Taking a breath

What a crazy weekend. I am exhausted. As if puppy sitting weren't enough I also had my dad and nephew here. Now, either one on their own is fine but together, the rules seemed to have changed. I don't think there are any rules at Papa's house. Brooke and Draven were crazy, crazy, crazy. Running, screaming, playing and fighting. In other words, they were just being kids. I am not sure how it happened, but yesterday I ended up making 3 different lunches for people and then 2 different dinners plus this morning, I was told I had to make a BIG breakfast and it had better have sausage gravy and biscuits. What is wrong with kids today?? My girls get formula and if they are really lucky on a Sunday morning either bagels from Panera or a Krispy Kreme. Maybe I am just a bad mom. Oh well, I am already over it.

The good news is that the kids crashed early last night - they played themselves silly and then fell asleep in my bed!

I stuck Kate in there with them but it didn't take. After I got them moved to Brooke's room I got Papa asleep and then Baby Kate. The only one who wanted to stay up last night was the crazy Chilli dog who does NOT like to be crated. Probably an hour after I got everyone down, Kate woke up for her middle of the night feeding which she hasn't done in a couple of days! By about 3:30am I was down until the kids were up and ready to go at about 6am. Lord help the person who asks me tomorrow how my weekend was!

I think Jay and I (if I can talk him into it) are going to go do a little Christmas shopping or Christmas window-shopping as the case may be. I do have some good, happy news, Starbucks has geared up for the holiday season - Peppermint Mochas are back! Mmmmmmmm now that is happy!

Tis the season!
