Most of you know Kate has had some stomach issues since she was born. She spits up and throws up a lot more than any baby I have seen. As a result she has been slow to gain weight. Her pediatrician has been seeing her once a week and doing weight checks. Last week she finally made it back to birth weight. We have been on 4 different formulas and are now doing rice cereal added in and they gave her a prescription for the reflux. It just breaks my heart! Well yesterday I could not keep anything down her at all. Jay worked from 8am until 10 pm and I was freaking out. Once he got home he fed her. She took 4oz and then started projectile vommitting again all over everything about 20mins later. We were up alllll night with our poor baby. So this morning we called the doctor and he got her in today. The good news is the meds have been helping because she is up to 7lbs 7oz. That is a very good thing - she is also still very alert and is and I am quoting the doctor here, "advanced" because she is smiling already. The bad news is she is still spitting up so much. The doctor suggested giving her Malox 3x daily in addition to the other med and switching to Dr. Brown's bottles which we went straight out and bought.. This afternoon has been much better - she is sleeping in her swing right now and looks quite content. However, as a precaution, the doctor wants to do an Upper GI on her on Friday. Ughh. It sounds awful. The worst part is that Jay has to work and there is no way around it. She is going to have to skip 2 feedings and then have to drink a bottle of barium before they do the test. I am crying just thinking about my poor sweet girl. Please think good thoughts for both of us - it's going to be a tough, tough day. I will keep you posted.

I understand the spitting up issue, my daughter had the same thing, the doc did some of the same test and all was fine, which I know will be the same for you and Kate. You are both in my prayers and if you need to chat call me.
