Homestudy update

Good Morning! Well, we made through last night - it lasted about 3 1/2 hours. Lots and lots and lots of questions. Luckily, I just love our social worker - she is very sweet. We had to describe every single part of our childhood from literally birth on up. We had to name every town we lived in, every school we went to, our previous relationships, relationships with our parents, our siblings, our friends, neighbors, pets, neighbors pets, people on the street, street people, you name it - we talked about it! Luckily, she wrote everything down for us - of course the entire time, our cat was on her lap or trying to run his head underneath her hand while she was trying to write and our poor dog was at the back door whining.
J was too funny. His nerves really hit him again. He talked about his childhood in great detail. Down to each soccer team he was on and football team and which one was better. He described his good friends Rob and Larry and Mike in great detail. Finally after talking for about 30 minutes trying to lead up to our first date (which btw was soooooo not a date - Julie back me up on this, please!) - he was going on and on about going to Eddie Bauer to buy a new shirt and blah, blah, blah. Very sweet but it was definitely nerves talking. I just started laughing. I didn't even mean to - then she started laughing too. I felt bad for Jay but it really did break up some of the tension! After our long talks and interviews - she asked to see the house. That was definitely the best part. She just walked around saying how much she liked our house - no white gloves, no closet peeking, nothing. At the end she told us what great parents we are going to be and that this was a great study and as long as nothing comes back negative on our background check, she would write a really favorable review. WooHoo! So glad that is over!

Tomorrow is scrapbook day! My good friends Jennifer and Kay are coming to help save me from this overwhelming project! I am really excited- should be fun. Plus they are great girls to hang out with and part of the honorary aunt brigade! Hey Shell - maybe I will have some layouts to post on my blog - wouldn't that be exciting! Meanwhile, Jay and I have to made a quick adoption stuff run to OKC today. It's going to be a long day but atleast for now - I am too excited to care!

Oh one more thing - our SW was so excited to have snacks! She told us that her first homestudy the couple had made snacks for her so she thought that that happened every time. Apparently is doesn't so she said, everytime there are snacks she gets so happy! Plus, she LOVED my cookies. I had to confess that they were slice and bake!

What? SOMEONE ELSE is helping with your scrapbook stuff?!? Ah well... I guess that's o.k.

Glad your homestudy went well... I knew it would. Too funny about Jay the babbler.
