I have never been one to protest especially for something so trivial but I feel that I must! First, let me just confess, I like reality TV - I am not ashamed to admit. Well, maybe just a little. Anyway, I have been a loyal American Idol fan since season one. Hey, I can even admit to liking Justin Guarini. I bought Kelly Clarkson's last album. I have seen Ruben Studdard in concert and while I am not an official "Claymate," I also have Clay Aiken's CD. I watch it from the very begin - every year, without fail. I have always done a pretty good job figuring out early on who will be the final two. This year was a little bit harder - I was absolutely confident in Chris - no contest. I wasn't sure who the other one would be. It seems to have flip-flopped week to week but Chris, as I saw it, was a sure thing. From time to time in seasons past, I have even dialed those 866idol#'s repeatedly to make sure my vote counted; afterall, just like in the presidential elections, if you don't vote, you can't complain. So last night I voted. I voted often. From 8pm until about 9:30 I dialed and redialed. 1-866-idols-02. Partly cause I have a little crush on Mr. Daughtry and I liked hearing his voice thanking me for his vote PLUS I wanted to see him CRUSH the competition - namely Elliott. I can't stand Elliott. He looks like a monkey. An ugly monkey. An ugly monkey who can't sing. I threw a couple of votes Taylor's way because I do like him and that is the way the rest of my family leans.
So what in the world happened??? How did Chris get eliminated tonight?? Ryan didn't even draw it out - he just said it. Boom! Chris you are out. You are going home. WTH?? Atleast I didn't cry like Paula did. Ok, but just a little. Let the conspiracy theories begin - maybe the calls didn't count - maybe I should have called from the "grassy knoll." Maybe it is the presidents fault or the oil companies or El Nino or global warming all I know it that a HUGE injustice has been perpetrated!

Chris Daughtry - you were robbed!! I am planning a "hands across America" sing-a-long in support of Chris so is you live anywhere near Lightner St. in Wichita, please join me. Please bring a tapered candle and your favorite adult beverage. We will all join hand and sing Chris's version of Walk the Line and then we will simultaneously shave our heads.
