Yesterday, Sarah and I went to see my grandparents. Today is my grandfather's 87th b-day. I think they like having us there and we loved being there. Both the girls (kate and Lillie) had a ball! Kate renamed grandpa - GrandPapa, which i thought was very sweet! We took them icecream to celebrate his birthday. Kate loves her grandpapa - I think she would love him even if he hadn't shared his ice cream!

My grandparents live out in the country. There is lots of room to run and play. Kate really enjoyed the dogs they have although at one point (around the time of this pic) Kate started screaming - THERE ARE TOO MANY DOGGIES LOOKING AT ME!!!!

Today we spent the day with Sarah and Lillie again lobbying at the capital. We were there hoping to gain support for funding for pregnant women with iron deficiencies. Iron deficiencies are one of the major risk factors in low birth weight babies. We joined the March of Dimes passing out information and gifts to our Senators and Reprentatives. Kate had a ball! Here she is with Katelyn Marie. Katelyn was born at 25 weeks weighing less than one pound and smaller than a ballpoint pen.

Premature babies is no laughing matter but Kate got a bad case of inappropriate giggles. No idea where she gets that from...Sarah???

Kate's job was to walk into the Senators office and say "we are with March of Dimes, thanks for your support." She did a fabulous job - of course I helped her out a bit!

When they weren't in their office, she called them. "Senator, we are counting on your support!"

Of course a lot of this is done in her cousin Lillie's name. They are quickly becoming best friends - it is such a joy to watch this friendship blossom! I am very lucky and so proud to be able to finally have this time at home.

When Kate and I finally left the capital - there were literally thousands of protestors on the front lawn. they were calling it a "tea party." It was very peaceful and really was great to see Freedom of Speech in action.
