Brooke/Sammy had a long way last year to go to pull her reading grade up. She raised her level almost 2 full grade levels from the beginning to the end of the year! She has yet to discover the joy of reading but this summer we set out to accomplish what seemed like the impossible - read 100 books! We didn't start at the beginning so she had some catch up to play. Here we are less than a month from school starting and she is at 37 books. I think she can make it. She really really wants to but I thought I would post here and ask you guys to leave her a note of encouragement! She doesn't know how smart she is even though I tell her all the time! Any comments of encouragement are very appreciated!!
BTW, if she hits 100 books - she gets $100 to spend on school clothes of her choosing (not ones her dad and i pick out!) Plus there is a matching program for books over the 1st 100 that her nan and uncle are doing.
Since this post is all about Brooke, i thought i would leave you with some pics from the YardDawgz game!

Go Sammy! Your least-favorite aunt never really liked reading... and you certainly don't want to be like her!
Seriously, though... you can do it!
(To corn a marketing slogan) Just do it! Reading is one of the most awesome things. I'm from a family of avid readers and there's just nothing quite like a good book. Just finished one last night, as a matter of fact!
Wow! way to go on the reading! You are doing a fantastic job and I am so proud of you! Can't wait to see your new clothes. By the way you look so pretty in the Yard Dawgz pictures. Wish I could of seen you in person.
Go Sammy Go! YOU CAN DO IT! I'm with Chris, there's nothing like reading a good book! I am a voracious reader, and can't imagine life without books!
GO, GO, GO! Keep it up and you will really enjoy all the rewards from reading (not mention all the cool clothes you will have.) I know you can do it. You will have to come by and see me and model all your new clothes. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
