Weekend Update

We had a very busy busy weekend planned but someone or something had something else in mind. I woke up Friday not feeling great (especially considering it was Friday), i took a shower, took brooke to camp and went to work. About 5 minutes after getting there I new i had to leave. My tummy was not doing well at all. I left about 45 minutes later. I hadn't been out of the office 5 minutes when Brooke's camp called and i had to pick her up with an upset tummy. The good news is it didn't last too long. By evening, we both felt better enough to eat a little something and by the next morning we were much better. Of course, things didn't stay good for long. Kate woke up at 5am Saturday morning. I think she had the same stomach stuff - yuck! Jay started feeling bad by 8am. So I took care of Kate while jay slept. Worst of all - i had to miss the famous all girls swim party. Jay and I got into a little tiny argument about the entire thing. See, i don't think it is a good idea to leave an almost 2 yr old home with a sick dad who won't get out of bed. I ended up staying home.

By Saturday evening everyone was a little better. We are running out of time to prepare for our lake trip (almost everyone leaves next Saturday.) We ended up in Moore Saturday night so we could work on our signature family drink. Not sure if any of the Vaughn family reads this or not so I won't go into details. We practiced camping by sleeping in the travel trailer - not sure why we need to do that since we will be tent camping. This is so not my idea of a vacation but it is bunny friendly and it makes jay happy. I am a good wife. Sunday morning we went with jay's family to Sam's. We got ALL the food we need for the lake - we are SO set! YAY! It is so much easier and cheaper doing it this way, i think we did great!

Sunday afternoon we went to my sister's for a BBQ. My brother and his family are in from Florida! The older cousins - Draven, Audrey, Zoe and Brooke have always played well together and today was no acception! look how cute my girls are......

Here is a pic of the "original 4 cousins"

It is also great time for aunts and uncles! Here is Kate playing - Where's Aunt Bootsy!

And doesn't Zoe look soooo happy (ok maybe not) to see her Uncle Jay or as she used to call him.....Uncle Jenn

Baby Kate and Uncle Aaron sharing a laugh!

Aunt Shell and Baby Kate got off to a rough start but happily, it all worked out in the end!

The kids all had so much fun - playing in the water!

Sarah and Chris prepared another awesome meal! From now on, I want blue cheese on everything, the way God intended. Even the sometimes picky kids enjoyed the dinner!
Kate was especially fond of the corn on the cob!

We even managed to get a pic of all SIX cousins now! YAY!
I really do hope that they end up growing up and still being this close!

All-in-all, it was a great night. Once again it makes me happy to be back home and around my family. All I have to do is see Kate pleading for her Aunt Bootsy's attention and I know we made the right decision by moving here......even if Bootsy does insist on dressing Kate up all silly while she is sleeping. Where on earth did she get that hat?

sorry you had the "sickies" on Fri. & Sat., but sounds like you ended up having a good weekend.

And you ARE a good wife if you'll go camping. I refuse! After camping in rain and snow, I said I was done. Now - if we had a huge Winnebago, I might consider it! HA!

Glad you got a family filled weekend. Looks like you had a great time.
I'm with you regarding the blue cheese. EVERYTHING is better with it!!!
