That's my Girl!

It's funny how fast you can forget the little things. Somedays, I almost forget that Kate is adopted. I was talking to a friend of mine the other day, who happens to be adopted, and she said the same thing happens to her sometimes as an adoptee. I will find myself staring at Kate trying to figure out if she looks like me or Jay or think about if she will have the same allergies as me but then I will realize how silly that is. I remember being worried for so long before we looked into adoption that I would never be able to love an adopted child as much as I would love a natural born child - now that thought makes me sick to admit. This is my child. My wonderful precious gift from God. And all though she may not have my physical attributes or my shellfish allergy, she is my daughter through and through. Not that I need to prove anything to anyone but........tonight we were laying on the floor playing - our new favorite thing to do - when she did something that was so, so me. Here is a pic:

In case you can't tell, she is talking on her hot pink cell phone (just like mine) and applying lipstick now if she were just driving too.....
