AWOL and other ISPs

Sorry I have been AWOL again. We have still been having computer trouble off and on and things have been crazy but I guess that is no excuse. Sorry.

We had a good Thanksgiving - went to Chris and Sarah's house for a fabulous gourmet meal with the most unusual prayer since Meet the Parents (but this is probably not the place to discuss it.) Brooke had her first sleep over at her cousins Zoe and Audrey's house. She had a great time of course, according to Brooke they "took a little rest" and then got up and played Cheetah girls and ate donuts in the middle of the night. We met my brother early the next morning in the Braum's parking lot where he was feeding the girls "breakfast" chocolate shakes. Hmmmm, yes, I believe she DID have a great time.

J & I missed out on bargain shopping so we are still WAY behind on presents. Don't worry Shell, I got yours - I want you to like me (isn't that what your blog says???) Actually, Aaron, we got yours too in case you are reading this. We took back your XXL sweater for the size 4T onesie you requested. Hope you like Gymboree!

So this week has been pretty uneventful although we had our first ice storm followed promptly by our first snow storm - I think we got about 7-8 inches. The drifts were crazy - I got out of my car at home and was up to my knees in snow. School was canceled for a day but not Kate's daycare - guess that is a good thing. Speaking of Kate she wanted to say a big "shout out" to her cousin Audrey. She wants to know if this is "fashiony." It's from Aunt Shell (otherwise known as Audrey's mom.)
It's turning into one of my favorite outfits of hers although we are BANNING Old Navy. That is a WHOLE other post.
So back to the snow. anticipating our first blast of real winter weather I went and bought Kate her first snow suit. It is sooo sweet and very soft. The morning the snow started I got her dressed and put her in her snowsuit. Problem was, when she is wearing the snow suit, she does NOT fit into her carrier. As a matter of fact, she pretty much can't move at all. Here are some pics:
Check out this new hat that a co-worker of my knitted for her - it is so sweet.
Notice the 2 hats - my friend Julie who has a baby 1 week younger than Kate believes in the 2 hat system too - can't be too careful. You know what they say.....A hat on the head keeps a baby out of bed. AND....2 hats on the head is better than one.
Kate did have her 3 month check up this week - she is doing GREAT! She is 12lbs 9oz and 23 1/2"long. The doctor says he wants to start her on spoon-fed cereal at 4 months! She is getting so big. J went with me to this appointment. When the doctor said to start feeding her cereal in a bowl at 4 months, Jay looked puzzled. He finally asked, "that is all she gets, just one bowl of cereal in the morning." I am just thankful he didn't ask if we should do frosted flakes or rice krispies! I couldn't help but laugh and so did the doctor. I love Dr. N (sorry Jenn).
Kate has started REALLY loving bath time. It is a BIG treat when she gets to take a bath with me in the big bathtub. We fill it up with warm water and she swims and swims and swims. OK, she kicks her feet and spashes her hands but really people, isn't that all swimming really is. I think she might make the olympic team before she is 2 if this kind of "training" continues. So what is a bath story without an embarrassing bath pic.
Check out her backstroke....

BANNING Old Navy? I gotta know the story behind that. And my blog doesn't say I'll like you... it just says I'll be nicer. :-)

p.s. - I think you should type out that prayer and add it to your scrapbook... or include it in your Christmas cards or something.
