I am tired. Exhausted. Jay and I have become a complete cliche! He wants to know what I have done all day and I want to know why he can't help more when he gets home. I think it is mostly my fault. I have done a pretty good job of keeping the house clean, making good dinners and keeping up with the laundry - which I do constantly because of Miss Kate's reflux! Hey, I even take a shower ATLEAST every other day and most days do hair and make-up! Not bad for a first time mom to a newborn baby, right?? Well the last several days have me exhausted. First, Kate has found her voice! She used to squeak the cutest little squeak when she was hungry and now with no warning, she just starts screaming. I am pretty sure she starts cussing me and I know she threatens to eat her arm off because in between screams she starts sucking like crazy on her hand or arm! OH, and our sleep schedule has gotten way off - she is sleeping less and less and less and less. We were basically up all night last night. She would take little restless cat naps in the beginning of the night and then was up and very alert from about 1:30am till 6am. Jay got up with us at about 4:00 or so and I got about an hours worth of restless sleep. I always look forward to Sundays because it is almost like a day off for me. Not really a day off but a day where atleast the responsibility is shared - Jay is very very good about that. Today, however, he was exhausted so he took a 4 hour nap while I cleaned and did laundry and took care of Kate. OK, I know I am venting here, forgive me. Please.
I think Kate understands just a little what I am going through and how important it is to make sure he gets to see all of her tricks! So, and I warn you this is probably way TMI so stop reading if you are eating or have a weak stomach. Friday, Jay was feeding her, I had had trouble getting anything to stay down her. She still has good days and bad days. It like that old song, When I am bad I am so so bad. Well, that could be her theme song. So Jay fed her and was bragging about how she was keeping it all down for him. He picked her up to put her on his chest and she let him have it. She puked and puked and puked. He must have been shocked because he opened his mouth wide and it went right inside! The grossest part was the fact that it was dripping from his goatee - so so so gross. He just kept saying, help me! help me! I didn't mean to (mostly) but all I could do was laugh laugh laugh! He asked me to watch Kate while he took a shower I kindly reminded him that when he is at work and she does that to me, I can't pass her off to take a shower. But I did, I took my beautiful, highly intelligent daughter while he took a shower, I also put an extra $5.00 in her piggy bank. Good girl Kate!
So today, daddy was giving her a bath. It is getting to be such a sweet time for the 2 of us I thought he might enjoy it. Well, things didn't go as well as planned. She pooped in the bathtub. Apparently, Jay didn't notice and grabbed a handful - he said at a glance, he thought it was part of the washcloth. OK. Looks like I owe Katie another 5 bucks.
p.s. sorry I have been gone. We have had some phone cable issues around here and I was without a landline and internet for like 3 days! I will try and do better posting next week. Kate has a dr. appt. on Thursday for another weight check - I swear she is over 8lbs now - she is feeling and looking so big!!

Awww... sorry you're so worn out, Jenn! That's too funny about her puking in Jay's mouth, though. (hee hee - sorry, Jay!)
Funny...the same thing happened to me tonight w/Evan. Of course, i don't have a goatee (at least i hope i don't), but it was dripping from my chin. Yuck!!! Anyway, hang in there Jenn, you will eventually get some sleep. I wish i was close, so i could come babysit so you could nap!
