That was probably the only time I got to hold her - my mom pretty much took over. Which was fine by me - she doesnt get to see her very often. Here is a pic of them together.
It was really a nice shower. Very girlie just like me. We played some games which some of my more competitive friends...Leah....took very seriously! Leah and Lisa were able to make 4 pages of words out of Kate's full name. Crazy! Thank Goodness Tracey had prepared gift bags for the winners.
Brooke had a good time hanging out with her cousin Evan. Brooke loves a good "baby wash." That is what she calls them. Not showers, but a baby wash. As a matter of fact, she wanted ot know when our next one in. Sorry, honey. Think it is over. Tracey had games for her and Evan. Here is Brooke putting a diaper on a baby blindfolded.
We got some great gifts. My Uncle and Aunt and their entire family found an old rocking chair in my granparents barn. It was mine when I was a little girl. When I was about 2 1/2 our house caught fire - the rocking chair was the one thing my grandmother managed to save. They all worked together to completely restore it, paint it and it is just beautiful. I couldn't help but cry! Even though we got home late Sunday night, I got it out of the Jeep and put it right in Kate's room. Here is a pic.
Kate and I got lots of great gifts - everyone was so generous. I have to tell you about her give from our new friend Laura. Laura is going be a new mom soon and I can already tell she is going to be a good one - she picked out a great gift. It is a crib toy and Kate just loves it. I know nobody will believe me but I think it was making Kate laugh last night. She LOVES it! Here are some pics I took:
