Babies having babies

So we worked all weekend and FINALLY we have everything finished! All of the questions, all of the documents, financials, physicals, birth certificates, marriage licenses, ss cards, insurance cards, all of it! DONE! DONE! DONE! WooHoo! Our social worker in KS is sending in her finished report sometime this week. I called our agency in OK and they said send everything in. So tonight Jay and I went to Kinkos and Fed-Exed a huge box of documents, another check and our precious Dear Birth Mother letter and family profile book! We are now officially WAITING!

Jay and I both feel such a sigh of relief. Now the work begins. Fundraising, cleaning, decorating and getting everything ready for little baby Lacy. We went to On The Border for dinner to celebrate with some Mexican Food, Mexican Beer and Uno Grande Margarita por Mi! It was great. Afterwards, I felt like there was still one thing we needed to do. We have tried several times but have failed. We had to go buy diapers. I don't know why but that was a task that really let some of the reality of it all set in. Everytime we tried, we spent hours just staring at 100 varieties of the unknown. I guess I know what J must have felt like the first time I sent him to the store from tampons. There are way too many choices! But tonight we did it. I was really proud of us. Until Jay stumbled on an endcap with some clearanced items. He made his selection and we headed towards the check out. I was so embarrassed. If we weren't OBVIOUSLY 30-something we would totally look like a couple of babies having babies. There we were a package of Huggies Newborn diapers and 8 packs of Bubble Yum Bugglegum! Here is a pic for proof. Hmmmm - this one is so NOT going in the babybook!
